It depends on grade level. We love America Story from Masterbooks. It talks about the faults of America but still how wonderful America is! The author even has a podcast: Real Cool History for kids. I am continually learning from it.

If you are looking for a more adult/high school ages, Wallbuilders/David Barton has some really really great materials and seminars.
